Cake Smash Photography

Did you all know that Cake Smash photography started in America a few years ago, but the trend has since made its way to all over the world. It’s one of the most requested sessions I get, and I must say I absolutely love it! Your baby’s first year goes by so fast, they change, grow, and learn so much in such a short time. A first birthday Cake Smash session is a great way to celebrate your baby’s first year.

So, what is exactly is this “Cake Smash session”? Well, it’s a super fun session where the baby typically has his or her first celebratory cake and we document it through beautiful photographs, but it’s not JUST that. Here are some things you can expect with a Cake Smash session in Little Bambino Photography’s North Vancouver studio.

  • We will get some pictures before smashing the cake!
  • Then comes the cake! Which most babies have no idea about. Parents don’t be disappointed if baby isn’t receptive to the cake. We will sneak some treats on the cake for baby and play songs and have fun!
  • The session isn’t just about the cake. This is a milestone celebrating your baby’s first year of life. Some kids are just not interested in the actual cake, BUT we always have fun and capture the cutest portraits.
  • After the cake part is over, we will do a bathtub session in an adoptable tub! Add some with bubbles (no water).

Little Bambino Photography is a professional Cake Smash photographer located in North Vancouver, Vancouver and serving the lower mainland area. When you book your baby’s cake smash session with me, every little detail will be taken care of for you. I will walk you through the entire process. Cakesmash session are well planned and designed, I commit time from start to finish by creating your custom themes. It is recommended that you book your cake smash session a minimum of 8-10 weeks in advance to guarantee my availability.

You are more than welcome to bring any props you’d like! Just let us know ahead of time so we can plan the artistic shoot.

Unfortunately, this does happen about 80% of the time. Some children love the cake smash and dig right in. Others are hesitant.

Only mum and dad currently. Please keep in mind, too many people trying to get your child to smile or talking tends to be a distraction.

Family and sibling pictures may be added on for $100. However, Cake smash sessions focus on the baby.

People get sick and circumstances change meaning that occasionally cancellations or postponements are unavoidable.
